Get Your Roll On
Reeling you in with terrible puns, it’s what we do here at Kutlery.
For my summer rolls and stir fry, I made a great hoisin/chili garlic sauce. It’s super easy, and requires: fresh orange, chili garlic sauce, hoisin sauce, Thai basil, lemongrass, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, sambal oelek (Thai and Malaysian ground chili paste) and a squeeze of lime. I don’t remember the measurements, but I threw all of those ingredients in a small pot and cooked it on low for about an hour. You can increase the heat using more chilies or add a pinch of sugar or honey for extra sweetness. This sauce is great on wings, fish or tofu.
I also made some shrimp in the oven for dipping. Just devein the shrimp, pat them dry and toss with lemongrass, fresh cracked pepper and a sprinkle of kosher salt.
