Feeling Crabby
After the flight from Hades, we quickly threw together a Memorial Day dinner with what little energy we had left. Like Gilligan's Island, we were two passengers who set sail on a three-hour tour (a three-hour tour!). Due to bad weather around DC, our four-hour flight from Scottsdale turned into a nine-hour test of will. Nothing will remind you of just how thin our social fabric is than being trapped in a warm, stinky tube with 200 other people.
Once we were home, showered and deloused, my husband roasted some corn on the grill-which I turned into Mexican Street Corn (Elote) Salad. Creamy mayo and sour cream paired with lime juice, chile powder, parmesan and queso fresco cheese, and cilantro. While that dish came together in the fridge, I put some large Dungeness crab in a Dutch oven with Philip’s Blackening Seasoning, Old Bay, French seafood seasoning, Fisherman’s Seafood Spectacular, unsalted butter and a couple cups of water. After a few burnt hot dogs from the grill, we were ready for another nap.
